Urgent DRE Update on Real Estate Exam Application

Updated: Nov 28, 2022

REAL ESTATE LICENSE UPDATE

The Department of Real Estate (DRE) is pleased to announce that applicants can now apply online for the California real estate exam or combination exam and license via DRE's eLicensing system. Applicants can access the Online Exam License Application system either by signing in to their existing eLicensing account or by creating a new account.  The system guides users through the exam or exam/license application and includes the ability to upload required documents/forms and pay the required fees. Before starting the online application, applicants should first watch this short video  that goes through the documents and forms they will need to upload, depending on the type of application they plan to submit. Having these materials together first will make filing the online application faster and more efficient. In addition, submitting applications online will allow users to check the progress of their application and to receive e-mail notifications if DRE needs any additional information, as well as when the application is complete. We also want to take this opportunity to remind course providers that you can help avoid delays for your students and the need for your school to reissue course completion certificates by ensuring that your students register for courses under their legal name as it appears on their valid government issued identification. Their name can be verified when the student presents their ID at time of registration and prior to their final examination. If they have applied under a name that does not match their ID, please correct the name so that their course completion certificate is correct. Providing the option to submit applications electronically is part of DRE's ongoing commitment to improve its services for applicants and licensees.   Department of Real Estate, www.dre.ca.gov eLicensing - https://secure.dre.ca.gov/elicensing/
